Here's what Paul Gunther, Chairman of the Board of Bank of American Fork and longtime TSO Season Member has to say about the TSO...
=======
"Over my 40 plus years in New York City, I've attended hundreds of concerts by lots of different orchestras.
When I first heard the TSO I was pleasantly surprised at how good they played. They sounded as good as orchestras I've heard in New York City.
I think the reason is not just ability but passion for the music. Union orchestra members in New York City have self-imposed restrictions on what a conductor can ask of them. They have a fixed number of rehearsals, limited rehearsal length, pre-determined breaks among other restrictions.
To many of the musicians it is a job. They are hired to play the notes.
The TSO musicians are there because of their passion for the music, their passion for performing and the comradery with other passionate musicians. They come to play the music and I hear that."
