"Summertime...and the livin' is easy..." (Gershwin, from Porgy and Bess)

We're enjoying our time off this summer. Maestro John Pew has been keeping busy traveling all around the world.

Here he is on his way to Amsterdam. He enjoyed the perks of his primo Delta status in First Class.

Though this was a business trip, he made sure to catch an orchestra concert. He got to witness what is arguably the most excellent orchestra in the world! Amsterdam's home team, The Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra.

This week, John and Doug (TSO's Associate Conductor) are flying to Chicago. They will attend the annual League of American Orchestras National Conference. They will attend seminars with other orchestra representatives from around the country. It's a great conference where they learn more about all the ins and outs of running an orchestra.

While in Chicago, they'll see the fantastic Chicago Symphony perform with Ricardo Muti and Yo-Yo Ma. Some of the music on the program will be music we've programmed for our March 2019 concert. Shostakovich's "Festive Overture."

John and Doug will return to Utah County just in time for our FREE summer performance. You won't want to miss it.

For 1 night only, we will perform an outdoor concert at the American Fork Amphitheater. No tickets needed. Adults and children of all ages are welcome to attend.

Join us on Monday, June 18th at 7:00 pm. American Fork Amphitheater, 851 E 700 N, American Fork, UT 84003.

Our last performance at the Amphitheater was a memorable one. Not only was Jeff Pew featured as our soloist, but it started raining halfway through the concert.

We thought we'd have to pack it all up and end early. We didn't want our instruments damaged by the rain.

Many of you, our fantastic audience, opened your umbrellas and joined us on stage.

This year's Amphitheater performance will be just as memorable. But without the rain, hopefully. We will perform favorite works from our past season and our tour to Southern Utah.

Music from Harry Potter, Pirates of the Caribean, Schindler's List and Star Wars alongside works by Aaron Copland, Camille Saint-Saens, and other classical composers.

There's no need to buy tickets as it's a free concert. But for those of you who are still considering our TSO Season Membership, you can sign up by clicking the link below.

We're so excited to play one more concert for you to wrap up the incredible 2017-18 season we've had.

We'll see you Monday night at the Symphony!
